Richardson Dackam is a Senior AI Engineer at BoxOne Ventures. He builds the AI layer across the investing workflow, spanning tools, agents, and automation. He's drawn to new AI capabilities and turns the best ones into dependable systems. His work focuses on surfacing signal earlier, strengthening evaluation and due diligence, and helping the team move with more leverage. A full-stack developer since 2011, Richardson has led teams and shipped products across payments, e-commerce, insurance, security, energy and solar, crypto, events, and social platforms. He also contributes to open-source projects, including Open Deep Research.

Outside of BoxOne, Richardson runs N Shipyard, a solo R&D studio where he tests emerging AI technologies by building and shipping products and tools. He writes Code & Capital, long-form deep dives on AI from a builder's perspective, focused on what's happening now and what might come next.

Richardson is based in Toronto. Outside of work, he prioritizes time with his son and family. He also enjoys cooking, reading, and studying Japanese language and culture.
